We had been fans for many years and eagerly anticipated this show, but what a letdown it turned out to be. About 10 years ago in Pittsfield MA, we caught Mark Chesnutt's act and it was underwhelming. We were optimistic for an improvement this time around, but unfortunately, that was not the case. The band's performance lasted for 1 1/2 hrs, during which they only played 5 songs. There were extended periods of instrumentals which were well done but overly lengthy. The lead singer's vocal delivery was the turning point from acceptable to disappointing. It became apparent that he struggled with the vocals, often relying on the audience to carry the tune. It seems that some of their classic hits like "Fire on the Mountain" and "Searching for a Rainbow" may be beyond his vocal range now. Even my personal favorite, "24 Hours at a Time," was poorly executed to the extent that it was unrecognizable. We would advise against attending a concert by this band and would not attend another one ourselves.
